Miscreants have carried out at least four arson attacks in 24 hours till 6 am on Wednesday (December 13), amid the 36-hour blockade called by BNP and like-minded parties.
Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters disclosed the information on Wednesday.
Two buses, a truck and a pickup were torched over this period, said Anwarul Islam of the Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters (media cell).
Seven firefighting units and 35 members of the fire service were engaged in extinguishing the flames, he said.
So far, 274 vehicles and 15 establishments have been set on fire during the blockades and hartal from October 28 to December 12, according to fire service headquarters.
