New year, new government, new expectations. Another new year is upon us. January 1st comes to us every year with dreams and possibilities. We are excited. Along with joy, we pledge to move anew in the new year. To live life anew, to embrace new dreams and possibilities. Social, political and economic commitments become prominent. We also promise to change personality. A year 2023 has passed through deep anxiety, worry, crisis, economic inequality, class discrimination, unlimited increase in commodity prices, bribery and corruption, money laundering and various oppressions and tortures. Russia-Ukraine, Israel-Palestine wars have negatively affected the economy and daily life of the whole world. If we can ensure the proper utilization of the resources, talent and manpower that we have, then facing the crisis of 2024 will not be a very difficult task. To face the impending crisis, firstly identify our problems, identify the greater needs and in this regard, a dialogue and discussion with the country’s intellectuals, economists, agriculturists, educationists and national leaders can be taken. We believe that if we can deal with the magnet issues through discussion and dialogue, we will be able to deal with the crises very easily with determination. The state has to play the highest role. Today’s school-college students are the youth power. Strategies and initiatives must be taken to harness this youthful energy. If the country is good, we will be good. So we have to take the responsibility of building the country.
The most talked about negative news in 2023 was money laundering, bribery, corruption, abuse of women, women scams, unlimited rise in commodity prices, killing of garment workersFailure to prevent dengue etc. in 2024 which we do not want in any way. Money of corruption, laundered money should be brought back and at the same time the corrupt should be brought under the law and exemplary punishment should be ensured. A zero tolerance policy should be adopted against bribery, corruption and looting. Government, semi-government and autonomous all levels of corruption and looting should be identified and effective steps should be taken to stop it. Equal rights of all should be established in the social culture. If rights are not established, the darkness will intensify. Innovative power should be brought to the fore. The state has to take initiative to maintain the environment for the practice of free thinking. In order to establish the rule of law, administrative and judicial weaknesses should be identified and steps should be taken accordingly to address them by taking expert advice.
There is boundless potential in the new. And the new year will allow that possibility to become a reality. We are proud and optimistic about independent and sovereign Bangladesh. This country will one day become a developed country. The patriotic people see such a dream, the government also sees it.
Development of individual, family, society is not possible without planning, hard work, constructive thinking, similarly development of the state is not possible. No matter how small the state is, its character should be people oriented and public welfare. Bangladesh will move towards that goal with more determination.
However, human rights, democracy, rule of law, improved communication and traffic system, civil services and public safety, medical services, educational conditions, voting rights or electoral system, infrastructural development, urbanization, financial sector including bank management, domestic and foreign investment, trade and trade deficit, commodity market. , the share market, regardless of the sector of the state, the government is trying to overcome the weakness. In this regard, we are hopeful that the coming days will bring prosperity in the national life.
Successes were not few as well as failures. Padma Bridge, Metrorail, Bangabandhu Tunnel, satellite connectivity have opened up new possibilities. In sports, girls were more successful than boys in other sports including football and cricket at the national and international level. Failures should be left behind and successes should be taken as a source of motivation. May the life of every person of the country be filled with happiness and prosperity in the new year. We hope that the reputation of the country and the nation will spread further in the international arena with the government’s encouragement. We want the government to give utmost importance to the economic prosperity of the country by properly evaluating the expectations, emotions and sentiments of the people. Let the latent patriotism hidden within everyone be awakened for the good of the country and the nation, Bangladesh will be established in the spirit of the liberation war, hunger-poverty will be free, torture, rape,-kidnapping-murder-suicide will be free, communalism will be free, bonds of harmony will be strengthened, new employment will be created. There will be, bribery-corruption-money laundering will be free, will bring back the laundered money,the stability of the source of goods will be maintained, the rights of the masses will be established. Remittances will make the money and lives of warriors more secure. May the new year rise to the top of our beloved motherland Bangladesh.Let’s open new doors of possibilities – I am looking forward to this in the new year.
