Our future uncertain if the election is not acceptable: EC Anisur

Election Commissioner Anisur Rahman commented that if the upcoming national election cannot be fair, beautiful, and acceptable, then our future remains uncertain.
He came up with the remarks while addressing the opening ceremony of the training programme for executive magistrates on the occasion of the 12th parliamentary elections at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center in the capital on Sunday.
Anisur Rahman stated that without credible elections, there remains a possibility of everything in Bangladesh, including the economy, society, and business, coming to a halt. There might even be a chance of fragmentation. There is a possibility of separation.
‘We have no option but to conduct a fair, free and acceptable election. So you have to do your duty impartially. This election is not only for us. The whole world is watching it,’ he said.
