Jatiya Party Chairman and newly elected MP of Rangpur- 3 constituency GM Quader has said the Jatiya Party will play the role of the opposition in parliament regardless of whether there is any official announcement or not.
He added that it is normal for Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader to comment on the Jatiya Party as the opposition party.
“We have got the most seats, even if it is less. We are supposed to be the opposition party, but so far we have not received any letter from the speaker or the parliament. However, whether we receive the letter or not, we will play the role of the opposition party in the parliament,” he said.
GM Quader made the remarks while interacting with reporters at the city’s Skyview residence on Monday afternoon before visiting the Bihari camp located in Gudri Bazar and Station area of Rangpur city.
He said: “We have spoken for the people in the last parliament too. This time, we will also be vocal against the government’s corruption, misrule and relentless rise in commodity prices. People of the country have appreciated our role as the opposition party. ”
GM Quader said that there are two challenges in front of the government.
He said: “It cannot be said at this moment how successful the government will be in controlling it and dealing with political instability. The economy of the country is in a fragile state, the value of the currency is decreasing, people are losing their jobs, and many people are spending their days inhumanely, in unemployment without getting new jobs.”
He suggested that the government take more effective initiatives on these issues.
