3 youths killed in Dhaka road accidents

Three youths have been killed in separate road accidents at Jatrabari and Khilkhet in the capital.
The accidents occurred on Friday (Jan 26) morning and Thursday (Jan 25) night.
Roman, 33, died on the spot after a motorcycle accident in the 300 feet Mastul area of Khilkhet around 4am. Two others—Sajib Hossain, 35, and Deen Mohammad, 35—were taken to Kurmitola General Hospital. Then they were later shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), where Sajib died while undergoing treatment, said Md Shohidul Islam, an assistant sub-inspector of Khilkhet Police Station.
Sajib is the son of Nawab Miah of the Bangshal Nawab Katara area. Deen Mohammad is a resident of Keraniganj’s Jinjira.
Meanwhile, another young man named Roman, 30, was killed, and a young woman named Mariam, 25, was injured after being hit by a police vehicle in Jatrabari’s Bhangapress area.
Roman, a resident of Bhola Sadar Upazila, worked at a factory in Matuail’s Nimtoli area and lived there.
Roman’s father, Selim, said that Roman died while undergoing treatment there at around 2am at DMCH.
Jatrabari Police Station’s Sub-Inspector Mizanur Rahman said they were hit by a truck around 10:30pm on Jan 25. Roman’s body has been kept at DMCH morgue.
When asked whether the car that hit them was a police car, SI Mizanur said that the car belonged to the POM of the police line.
