Seven Bangladeshi workers without valid documentation were apprehended today in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, due to various immigration offenses.
The individuals were part of a larger group of 108 undocumented foreign workers held during an operation at Pasar Harian Selayang in the Malaysian capital.
City police chief Allaudeen Abdul Majid said that the raid specifically targeted criminal activities in the area, with a primary focus on addressing issues related to undocumented immigrants.
“The aim was to eliminate any unhealthy activities in the area,” Allaudeen said in a statement according to the report.
Among the 108 detainees, the majority were Indonesian citizens (52), followed by 35 from Myanmar, 12 from India, seven from Bangladesh, and one each from Pakistan and Nepal. — The New Straits Times
