Four people, including Dr Yunus, sought bail in labour court. Dr Yunus’ lawyers Md Abdullah Al Mamun filed the appeal at around 10:30am on Sunday (Jan 28).
Earlier, A labour court sentenced Grameen Telecom Chairman and Nobel Laureate Dr Yunus and three others to six months in jail for violating labour law on January 1.
The court fined them a total of Tk 30,000 each or remain behind bars for 25 days in default under two sections of the Bangladesh Labour Act, 2006.
