On the first day of the SSC and equivalent examinations, 19,359 candidates were absent in nine general, madrasa and technical education boards across the country. At the same time, 24 examinees and a room inspector have been expelled for various irregularities. The information was disclosed at the Education Ministry’s examination control room after the examination on Thursday afternoon. According to the control room of the Ministry of Education, a total of 14,18,292 candidates registered for the SSC examination under nine general education boards. Of them, a total of 14,08,561 candidates took part in the exam. The SSC examination is being held at 2,264 centres across the country.
According to the Ministry of Education, 9,731 candidates were absent in the examination under nine general education boards. Of them, the highest number of 2,345 examinees under Dhaka Education Board were absent. Apart from this, 809 candidates were absent in Chittagong Education Board, 1,181 in Rajshahi, 682 in Barishal, 564 in Sylhet, 1,043 in Dinajpur, 1,370 in Cumilla, 604 in Mymensingh and 1,133 in Jashore Education Board. There were 2,48,497 examinees in the Madrasa Education Board this time. Out of which 240,497 were present on the first day. There were 7,660 absentees. Seven members of the board were fired for irregularities.
