Around 15 per cent of women suffer from endometriosis, a rare and hidden disease of female reproductive age (15–49 years), as its symptoms are similar to menstruation cramps.
ACME’s Gynocare disseminated this information during two scientific seminars held at East West University and North South University. The aim was to raise awareness about endometriosis during March, which is observed as Endometriosis Awareness Month globally.
Prof Dr Neaz t Parveen, a renowned gynaecologist, who conducted the scientific session at East West University, said that untreated endometriosis affects female patients with many complications, including infertility.
Another renowned gynaecologist Associate Prof Dr Joysree Saha conducted the scientific session at North South University.
