PATIYA, Chattogram: The anniversary and Eid reunion of A. Hakeem (R) Social Welfare Association was held in Maulvi Bari of Alamdarpara village under Patiya Thana of Chattogram district recently (April 12).
Distinguished educationist of the area and Chairman of Marine Science Department of Dhaka University, Dr. K. M. Azam Chowdhury, was present as the chief guest in the discussion meeting and ceremony. Dr. Mahfuzur Rahman Fahad was present as the main speaker. President of Bara Maulvi Bari Jame Masjid Syed Badrul Islam Manik presided over the discussion meeting. Md Jahedul Islam, adviser of the Association, assisted the programme while founder member of the society, Md Azim, moderated.
Journalist Md. Khorshed Alam, Md. Arif Tipu, Md. Mohsin Farid, Md. Mohiuddin, Md. Shahjahan, Abdul Khaleq, Syed Md. Masudul Islam, Abul Fazal and Md. Anas Khondkar were present as guests and gave valuable speeches wishing the success of the association.
Chief guest Dr. K. M. Azam Chowdhury highlighted various anomalies in the society through his speech. Overcoming this inconsistency, he urged the students and youth to take this association forward with determination to build a society with justice and devotion. He welcomed the aims and objectives of this association.
Finally he wished the success of this association and assured all kind of cooperation.
The programme began with the recitation of the Quran at the end of Fajr. After that, Naat and Kerat competition started from 10 am. Prizes were distributed among the winners of after Asr prayers debate and after Maghrib prayer. The programme concluded after Esha prayers with Akheri Munajat.
