DE Online Desk:
Mustafizur Rahman is the only cricketer of Bangladesh playing in this year’s Indian Premier League (IPL), however, Shoriful Islam, also could get a chance to play in the cash-rich tournament if Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) gave him proper No Objection Certificate (NOC).
IPL team Lucknow Super Giants wanted to take Shoriful in their team but the team wanted the left- hander for the entire season. BCB did not want to give him NOC for more than a month. That’s why this left-handed pacer couldn’t play IPL this year.
Bangladesh played against Sri Lanka at home before the IPL and will play against Zimbabwe next month, In between BCB wanted to grant Shoriful a month leave to play in IPL like Mustafiz.
“Lucknow contacted me. They wanted me but NOC time was very short and after that they did not contact again. If BCB had given full NOC, it would have happened. But since we have the Zimbabwe series, the NOC was considered regarding that.” Shoriful said to T Sports in Mirpur.
However, this prime pacer is not losing hope of playing in the IPL in the future. Shoriful, who is in a great rhythm, said that if he can maintain his form, more opportunities will come in the future.

“I have the desire, if I am fit, if it goes like this In Shaa Allah I will play IPL one day. If there is no national duty then. I have hope and desire, I will do something good if I get a chance In Shaa Allah,” he added.
Earlier, Taskin Ahmed also had the opportunity to play for LSG as they wanted Taskin in 2022 IPL. But Taskin also could not play due to national team games.
Meanwhile, Shoriful said he is in regular contact with Mustafiz. This left-hander also gave a glimpse of what they talk about, “He talks with me almost every day. He says there is less pressure, maybe because of that he is getting more confidence.”
