The High Court (HC) has issued a restriction on renowned actor Monwar Hossain Dipjol to perform his duty as the secretary of Bangladesh Film Artistes Association (BFAA) for the tenure of 2024-26.
An HC bench of Justice Naima Haider and Justice Kazi Zinat passed the order on Monday (May 20) after the hearing in the writ petition filed by actor Nasreen Akhter Nipun.
At the same time, the court directed the authorities concerned to investigate the allegation brought by actor Nasreen Akhter Nipun against Dipjol.

Actor Nipun filed the writ petition on May 15, bringing the allegations of irregularity and voting rigging in the Bangladesh Film Artistes Association election.
Earlier, the Misha-Dipjol panel won the 2024-26 elections of the Bangladesh Cholochitro Shilpi Samiti.
On April 20, Chief Election Commissioner Khorshed Alam Khosru announced the results of the election.
