Terming the protesters as “terrorists”, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has called upon the countrymen to suppress them with iron hand.
The Prime Minister said this after coming out of a meeting with the National Committee on Security Affairs (NCSA) at Ganabhaban in the capital on Sunday.

Students’ movement for quota reform has now turned into a one-point demand. The one-point demand is the ruling Awami League government’s resignation.
The demonstrators have launched an all-out non-cooperation movement from Sunday morning to press home this demand.
Quoting the prime minister, ABM Sarwar-e-Alam Sarkar said those who are committing violence and carrying out arson attacks now are not the students.
They are terrorists. “I call upon the countrymen to suppress these terrorists with iron hand.”
The meeting began at 11:00am at Ganabhaban which concluded at 2:00pm.

It was the first meeting of the NCSA after Awami League came to power through the last January 7 election for the fourth consecutive time.
The NCSA is the highest policy-making authority on national security of the Bangladesh government.
Headed by the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the committee was formed in March 2019 after ‘the National Defence Policy-2018’ was approved by the Cabinet of Bangladesh.

The committee consists of 27 members.
