  • Strong Knowledge on social dimension, Legal structure of the local government, power dynamics and government relations- Essential.
  • Good communication, networking and facilitation skills- Essential.
  • Good proficiency in Bengali, both written and verbal- Essential.
  • Good time management skills- Essential.
  • Good proficiency in English, both written and verbal- Desirable.
  • Decision making, problem solving and multi-tasking skills- Essential.
  • Competent in using MS Word, MS Excel and PowerPoint presentation- Preferred.

Responsibilities & Context

Job Context-

PARI Development Trust is a national NGO registered with NGOAB working in greater Mymensingh. PARI is implementing community development, maternal & child health, nutrition, food Security livelihood, agriculture and child rights program in several Upazilas of Mymensingh, Netrokona, Sunamganj, Jamalpur, Sherpur and Tangail districts. PARI is going to implement a 3 years’ period project “Nirapod” Food security and Livelihood Project from 1st October’2023 to 30th September 2026. This project focuses on engaging marginal male and female farmers with agricultural activities using sustainable agriculture methods to meet their basic needs and nutrition and increase production, income and Agro-based income generating activities for the well-being of their family and community in Nalitabari upazila under Sherpur district and Durgapur Upazila under Netrakona District.

The program seeks One Agriculture and Livelihood officer to implement the planned activities as frontline change agent to achieve the expected results through effective management and implementation of the program activities.

Job Responsibilities-

  • Support to implement livelihood program related activity such as vegetable training, agriculture training, livestock training, land management, vermin compost, market linkage, value chain etc. and supporting to Field staff and program team to achieve project outputs.
  • Establish functional relationship with Upazilas agriculture department, livestock office, fishery office to have technical support.
  • Contribute in Preparing activity plan, MIS and reports in regular basis.
  • Arrange and conduct meetings with different stakeholders (community, union council, GO and NGOs).
  • Supervise and monitor field activities and report on regular basis.
  • Establish good relationship with union council chairman, members, secretary, teachers, Upazila level service providers, religious leaders, elite persons etc.
  • Facilitate to implement health, nutrition & wash issues as well as livelihood initiatives in the community.
  • Select, train, support and monitor field staff in implementing planned activities.
  • Initiate community development plan with stakeholders through participatory approach.
  • Support Program Manager for Result-based planning, monitoring and reporting.
  • Support to form community structures/groups engaging disadvantaged adults (male and female) specially marginal farmers.
  • Facilitate meeting, training, workshops with target participants and stakeholders.
  • Develop livelihood program monitoring system/template.
  • Ensure monitoring and evaluation of activities as per M&E systems, tools and guidelines

Compensation & Other Benefits

40,000-42,000 plus other benefits included contributory provident fund, gratuity, bonus is admissible.
