Guterres congratulates Sheikh Hasina

The United Nations (UN) Secretary General Antonio Guterres has congratulated Sheikh Hasina on her reelection as the Prime Minister of Bangladesh and pledged to work with her government for the welfare of Bangladeshi people.
“I wish to congratulate you on your re-election as Prime Minister of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh,” he said in a message sent to the premier yesterday (January 18).
Guterres also said, “The United Nations remains committed to working with your Government, including through the United Nations Country Team, for the benefit of the people of Bangladesh”.
