A foreign student was killed and two others were injured in a road accident on the Patenga outer link road in Chattogram on early Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Phoutphaphone Bombam Xaydala, 25, daughter of Viencxay Xaydola, a citizen of Laos. She was a student of the Asian University for Women.
Two others injured were Bangladeshi siblings. However, their identities could not be ascertained.
Patenga police station officer-in-charge M Kabirul Islam said that the three were travelling in a Pajero car. Due to high speed, the car lost its control and hit the road divider at about 12:45am, leaving the foreign student died on the spot.
On information, police rushed to the spot and recovered the body. But two of the deceased’s friends were not found there, the OC added.
The body was sent to Chattogram medical college hospital morgue for autopsy. Legal action would be taken regarding the accident, the police official said.
