In Tangail in the country reached a high of 40°C on Friday afternoon with humidity peaking at 47% by 6pm. The scorching heat is causing severe hardship, especially for low-income individuals.
People are experiencing severe distress as a result of the intense heat in the coming days. Those with low incomes are particularly affected by this escalating situation.
As Friday is a holiday, even if the working people do not go out without special needs, the day-labourers get tired after going out to earn their livelihoods.
Unable to bear the intense heat for several days, some were seen bathing in the water of deep machine in the hope of getting relief from extreme heat, while others are trying to quench their thirst by drinking cold water and green coconut frequently.

Meanwhile, frequent loadshedding has increased suffering of people amid the situation.
It has been very hot since Friday morning. As it is a holiday, no one is leaving the house unnecessarily except the day-labourer. To get relief, many working people are sitting on the side of the road, while some are trying to cool down splashing water in their hands and mouth.
Meanwhile, people of different ages are suffering from various diseases including diarrohea, cold and fever in hot summer. The number of patients in the hospital is increasing.
Common people have demanded uninterrupted electricity in such a situation.
According to the Tangail District Meteorological Office, the temperature of 38-39°C has been flowing in the district for the last one week. Among them, the highest temperature of this season was recorded in the district on Friday afternoon of 40°C.
Jamal Uddin, senior observer of Tangail Meteorological Office, said that a temperature of 40°C has been recorded in the district this year. The situation will continue for the next two to three days. However, there is a chance of rain now.

A severe heat wave is sweeping over the districts of Bagerhat, Jessore, Chuadanga and Kushtia.
A mild to moderate heat wave is sweeping over Dhaka and Rajshahi divisions and the districts of Dinajpur, Rangamati, Chandpur, Khulna, Satkhira, Barishal and Patuakhali and it may intensify over the next 72 hours.
The current heatwave may continue to intensify further in the next 72 hours, the Met Office cautioned in an advisory on Friday.
