Over the past 16 years, several films, including “A Daughter’s Tale,” have depicted the life of former prime minister Sheikh Hasina.
With the change in government on August 5, a new development has emerged as a feature film about BNP’s chairperson Khaleda Zia has been announced.
The movie, titled “Mother of Democracy,” has already been registered with the Directors’ Guild by director MK Zaman.

The film is being produced by Akand Entertainment PLC, and the script is reportedly finished, with pre-production work underway.
Shooting is set to begin on September 25.
Director A K Zaman said: “This is not a recent decision. We have been working on this film for quite some time. In the process, we have gathered various details about Madam (Begum Zia).
We have also obtained her permission. This film is a must-watch to understand and learn about the true democracy of Bangladesh.”
Although the film’s permission, funding, title, script, and shooting date have been finalized, the makers are not yet revealing who will play Khaleda Zia’s role.

According to the director: “There will definitely be surprises in the casting. We wouldn’t make such a significant film with just anyone. The casting will be announced just before the shooting begins.”
It is worth mentioning that although the film’s production process started a while ago, it was officially registered with the Directors’ Guild on August 18.
On the same day, Apu Biswas announced her withdrawal from the film “Sheikh Rasel’s Artnad,” directed by Salman Haidar, where she was supposed to play the role of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
