DU students hold jubilant rally after Chhatra League banned

Anti-Discrimination Student Movement brought out a jubilant rally at Dhaka University campus on Wednesday night.

The Anti-Discrimination Student Movement on Wednesday (October 23) night brought out jubilant procession and held rallies on the Dhaka University campus after the interim government banned Chhatra League under the Anti-Terrorism Act.

The student brought out a procession from in front of the vice-chancellor’s house at about 9:30pm and then held a rally at the footstep of Raju Sculpture on the campus.

At the procession, the student chanted slogans — “Ei Muhurte Khabor Elo, Chhatra League Nishidda Holo”, “Chhatra Leagie Jongi, Khuni Hasinar Songi,” “Chhatra League Gorte, Khuni Hasina Bharate,” “Delhi Na Dhaka, Dhaka Dhaka” etc.

Speaking at the rally, Anti-Discrimination Student Movement coordinator Nusrat Tabassum congratulated all, saying “Bangladesh and Dhaka University have become free from all stigmas today. We thank this government. We will remain grateful to this government forever. Other student organisations should also learn a lesson from this ban.”
