A fire broke out on the 12th floor of Sabbir Tower, a multi-storey commercial building in Dhaka’s Purana Paltan area, on Saturday evening.
The blaze was reported around 8:30pm, according to Anwarul Islam, warehouse inspector at the Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters media cell.
“Upon receiving the alert, seven fire service units were dispatched to the scene and are working to bring the situation under control,” he said.
As of 9:30pm, there were no reports of casualties.
The cause of the fire remains unknown and an investigation is underway, officials said.Emergency responders continue operations at the site as authorities assess the extent of the damage.
