A cold wave is sweeping parts of Bangladesh with the lowest temperature recorded at 9 degrees Celcius in Syedpur upazila of Nilphamari on Tuesday morning, according to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department. Moderate to thick fog may occur over the country from midnight to morning, and it may persist till noon in some places. Air navigation, inland river transport and road communication may be disrupted due to thick fog, said a met office bulletin.
Night temperatures may fall by 1-2°C in Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions, and it may rise slightly in Rangpur and Rajshahi divisions.
Day temperatures may fall slightly across the country. Due to thick fog, cold conditions may prevail at places across the country, it said.
Seasonal low lies over South Bay, extending its trough to North Bay. The weather may remain dry with temporary partly cloudy skies.
