Mobile financial services provider bKash was honoured with the ‘Excellence in Investment Award-2025’ on Wednesday for its significant contribution to the country’s economy by attracting foreign direct investment.
Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus handed over the award to bKash founder and CEO Kamal Quadir at the Bangladesh Investment Summit 2025 at a hotel here, says a press release.
Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) Executive Chairman Ashik Chowdhury and Chief Adviser’s Special Envoy on International Affairs Lutfey Siddiqi were also present on the occasion.
BIDA presented the award in recognition of bKash’s continuous efforts in sustainable growth, employment generation, innovation and financial inclusion.
bKash, a joint venture of BRAC Bank, US-based Money in Motion LLC, International Finance Corporation (IFC) of the World Bank Group, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, China’s Alibaba Group’s Ant International, and Japan’s SoftBank Vision Fund, operates as a payment service provider offering broad range of digital financial services under the regulation of Bangladesh Bank since 2011.
