Qatar’s Minister of State for Energy Affairs, Saad bin Sherida Al Kaabi, met with Bangladesh’s Interim Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus on Tuesday, on the sidelines of the Earthna Summit in Doha.
The high-level meeting was attended by several senior officials from Bangladesh, including Foreign Adviser Md Touhid Hossain, National Security Adviser Khalilur Rahman, Energy Adviser Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan, and Principal Coordinator on SDG Affairs Lamiya Morshed.
Earlier in the day, Professor Yunus also met with Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, Chairperson of Qatar Foundation and mother of the Amir of Qatar.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the same summit and focused on issues of mutual interest, including sustainable development and global cooperation.
Additionally, the Chief Adviser held separate meetings with Sheikh Thani bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani, Chairperson of the Qatar Fund for Development, and Nawaf Abdullah Al Hammadi, Assistant CEO for International Operations of Qatar Charity.
According to Abul Kalam Azad Majumder, Deputy Press Secretary to the Chief Adviser, the discussions revolved around strengthening bilateral collaboration in areas such as energy, development, and humanitarian initiatives.
Professor Yunus arrived in Doha on Monday night for a four-day official visit to participate in the Earthna Summit, which brings together global leaders and experts to discuss sustainable solutions to environmental and developmental challenges.
Upon arrival at Hamad International Airport at approximately 9:40 PM local time, Professor Yunus was received by Bangladesh Ambassador to Qatar Md Nazrul Islam.
He departed from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka earlier that evening at 7:00 PM (Dhaka time).
