Three associate organizations of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) — Juba Dal, Swechchhasebak Dal, and Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal — are set to host a large-scale youth rally at Nayapaltan in the capital on Wednesday, aiming to draw massive participation from across the country.
Leaders of the organizing bodies claim that around 1.5 million youths from Dhaka, Sylhet, Faridpur, and Mymensingh are expected to gather for the event, which they say will mark a significant milestone in the party’s ongoing political campaign.
Swechchhasebak Dal president SM Jilani said BNP’s acting chairman Tarique Rahman will address the rally virtually as the chief guest, outlining the party’s future direction and political strategy for the youth.
Senior BNP leaders including Standing Committee members Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Abdul Moyeen Khan, Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury, and Salahuddin Ahmed are also scheduled to speak at the rally.
“We saw overwhelming youth participation in Chattogram. Similar success followed in Khulna and Bogura,” said Jilani during a press conference on Monday. “
We believe today’s rally in Dhaka will break all previous records.”
Jilani emphasized that the event is not just a political gathering but a platform for young people to raise their voices for democratic rights — particularly the right to vote.
“For the past 17 years, youths have been denied their voting rights. This rally will reflect their aspiration for democracy and fair representation,” he added.
The Dhaka rally marks the final event of a broader youth engagement programme initiated by the three BNP wings.
Announced on April 28, the initiative included four seminars and four youth rallies across 10 divisions, beginning in Chattogram on May 9 and subsequently held in Khulna and Bogura.
Organizers say the campaign is aimed at mobilizing young people in the movement for democratic reform under the leadership of Tarique Rahman.
