Bangladesh Under-19 team secured their second straight victory in the Youth Asia Cup, crushing Japan youths by nine wickets at ICC Cricket Academy Ground-2 in Dubai on Monday.
By doing so, they made a giant stride toward the semifinal. In the first match, they beat UAE by 61 runs. The junior Tigers will later take on Sri Lanka in their third and last match of the group on Wednesday.
The victory against Japan was expected. After being sent to bat first, Japan were bowled out for just 99 with Nihar Parmar making highest 18. Two other batters could reach double digits.
Mahfuzur Rahman Rabby and Arifur Rahman took two wickets apiece for Bangladesh.
In reply, Bangladesh toiled little to reach the target, making 100-1 in just 11.2 overs. Opener Ashiqur Rahman Shibli followed his 71 against UAE with 55 not out in this match.
