Advance train ticket sale for Eid-ul-Fitr to begin March 25

The advance sale of train tickets will start from March 25 in view of the upcoming holy Eid-ul-Fitr. Starting date of ticket sale has been fixed on April 11, considering the journey as Eid day. The advance ticket sale which started on March 25 will continue till March 31.
Meanwhile, advance return ticket sales will start on April 4. Advance return tickets will be sold till April 10. Railways usually start ticketing in advance 10 days before the journey. But this time in case of Eid, advance tickets will be available 7 days before.
An inter-ministerial meeting is going to be held tomorrow, Wednesday (March 13) at 2.30 pm at the Railway Building to determine the Eid journey action plan. After the meeting, Railway Minister Zillul Hakeem will present the plans related to Eid preparations of Railways in the press conference.
According to the sources of Bangladesh Railway, on Tuesday, no ticket for Eid journey will be sold at the counter. 100% tickets will be sold from the online platform. In this case, tickets can be collected from Bangladesh Railway website, Rail Sheva App and Sahaj.com platform. Online ticket sales will start from 8 am. Eastern and Western railway tickets will be sold at separate times to reduce server pressure. Seven pairs of special trains can run. But the matter is not finalized yet. The schedule of special trains will be decided in tomorrow’s meeting.
